Our Board

Our board of directors are nominated and elected by the board of directors for an initial one-year term that may be extended.  Directors are not compensated for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses incurred on behalf of the organization.

Gloria was the wife of Congressman Charlie Norwood DDS. She owned and operated Park Avenue Fabrics in Augusta. She's an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist church.

Melanie is a retired school teacher and is active with several local missions at Trinity on the Hill UMC.

Russell Joel Brown

Russell Joel Brown is a veteran singer, actor, and dancer of Broadway and countless other stages around the world. Retiring back to his native Augusta after a 27-year career in New York City, he has devoted his life to the betterment of children's lives and development of their potential.

Earl has been a practicing pharmacist in Augusta since 1970. He is a member of Trinity on the Hill church.

Alison has lived in many different places but is glad for the opportunity to serve Good Neighbor Ministries after moving back to her hometown of Augusta. Her professional work experience includes children and youth ministry, school teaching, and leading an after-school and summer day camp program. Outside of work Alison enjoys running, hiking, and enjoying meals with family and friends.

Terry Weatherford

Terry moved to Augusta in 2010 from Atlanta. She retired from her career of almost 30 years in sales in 2008. She was introduced to GNM by Missie Joyner (RIP). Terry has been a volunteer & supporter of GNM since 2010. She enjoys interacting with the GNM BoD's diverse talents & the challenges of the Harrisburg community.

Judy Colbert Heath

Board Member
Judy is a native Augustan and graduated from Lucy C. Laney in 1971. She went on to attend Augusta College, and graduated with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. She also has a Bachelors’ of Arts Degree in Sociology from AU and a Masters in Public Administration from Georgia Southern University. Judy retired in 2008 as Assistant District Director (Community Programs) from Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. She a currently serves as Program Administrator at Westabou Montessori School and is a member of Trinity CME Church where she serves on the Steward Board.
